Skylight brings daylight indoors

Skylight sits between powder blue and pale aqua. It feels like reflected sky on plaster, which is why it’s a favourite for bedrooms, en suites, and calm home offices. Unlike brighter blues, it contains enough grey to stay sophisticated, so you can use it on full-height wardrobes or tongue-and-groove panelling without the room feeling juvenile.

Layer it with Borrowed Light on ceilings or Pale Powder on cabinetry for a tonal scheme. For grounding, bring in oat-toned linens, travertine tiles, or matte black taps—the colour is gentle enough to take on contrast.

Picking dupes and finishes

When trialling alternatives, paint a generous sample board and move it between natural light and evening lamps. Skylight should stay calm; if it turns baby blue or teal, keep looking. For bathrooms and kitchens, opt for moisture-resistant eggshell; elsewhere, dead-flat or estate emulsion keeps the finish soft.

Pair the colour with neutrals like Ammonite or Light Blue to guide the eye from airy spaces to more grounded rooms. Matching sheen levels across trims and walls ensures the gentle blue reads intentional rather than accidental.

Where Skylight excels

Use it on bedroom walls, bathroom panelling, children’s playrooms, or even kitchen larders when you need a calm, uplifting palette. It’s also a beautiful ceiling colour above darker walls—Skylight reflects just enough light to make the entire space feel taller. Finish with brass sconces, woven pendants, or textured ceramics for a relaxed-but-refined result.
